오염된 공기가 청정구역으로 진입하는 것을 차단하기 위하여 두 가지 타입의 Gasket (Inflatable Seal, Silicon Seal)을 이용한 Gasket packing System에 의한 완전 밀폐기능으로 설계되고, 격실과 격실 사이의 공기흐름을 완전 차단하는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 주로 군부대 화생방 시설과 원자력 발전소, 연구소 클린룸 등에 많이 쓰인다.: The Airtight door blocks air flow in-between compartments and is designed to be completely airtight using a dual gasket packing system (Inflatable seal & Silicon seal) to prevent any contaminated air from entering a clean area. It is used in military NBC facilities, atomic power plants and clean room laboratories.

화생방 시설 지역에서의 기밀문은 오염 통제구역의 후속 방폭문 안쪽에 위치하는 내부 출입구로서 액체 오염지역과 기체 오염지역 사이의 문, 기체 오염지역과 공기 폐쇄실 사이의 문, 공기 폐쇄실과 무해구역 사이의 문, 청정기계실과 오염기계실 사이의 문 등으로 설치한다.: For NBC facilities, the Airtight door is installed as a door in the region between a liquid contaminated area and a gas contaminated area, between a gas contaminated area and an airtight room, between an airtight room and a non-harmful zone, and a clean machine room and a contaminated machine room.

외부에서 직접 무해구역으로 들어오는 최외곽 방폭문 바로 안쪽에도 설계 폭압에 견디는 유리창이 달린 철제 또는 스테인레스제 기밀문을 안으로 열리도록 설치하여 실내가 고압이 되었을 때 바깥으로 밀리게 해서 기밀이 보다 유지될 수 있도록 하고 평상시에도 방폭문을 열어놓은 상태에서 주 출입구의 대용으로 사용할 수 있게 한다.: It is also installed in the inside of the blast proof door connecting a non-harmful zone to the outside. The door is made of steel or stainless steel equipped window and designed to resist considerable pressure and to be opened inward. This door makes it possible to maintain air tightness allowing one to push and open it when the indoor air pressure spikes up. It is also perfect for use as a main entrance door in conjunction with the blast proof door.

창문, 커튼월, 도어를 통한 누기율을 알아보는 ASTM 기준 E283은 한쪽 면에 압력차를 발생시켜 측정하는 방법을 권장한다. 문틀은 스테인레스제 혹은 철제를 사용하고 오염방지를 위해 문짝과 문틀은 철제 표면 위에 에폭시 또는 우레탄제 페인트를 칠한다.: The doors use stainless or iron materials and the flaps and frames of the doors are secured on steel surfaces with epoxy or urethane paints to prevent contamination.

기밀문에는 내실과 외실의 상황을 실시간으로 점검하여 사고가 발생할 경우, 빠른 대처가 가능하도록 Vision Panel(투시창)을 장비할 수 있으며, 창과 문 사이의 틈에서 공기의 누수가 발생하지 않게끔 ‘ㄷ’자형 고무캡을 볼트 체결하는 방식으로 밀폐에 더욱 치중한다.: Vision panels can be installed into the airtight doors on purpose to quickly deal with accidents by checking the situation of the internal and external rooms. A ‘ㄷ’-shaped rubber cap is fastened with bolts in order to ensure reliable shielding and to prevent air from being leaked from between the window and door.
